The article reconstructs, on the basis of archive documents, the relationship between Fr. Mario Giavazzi and Fr. Agostino Gemelli. Born in Bergamo, Giavazzi was ordained a priest in his diocese. He joined the “Preti del Sacro Cuore Congregation”, to which Angelo Roncalli had belonged. He studied Theology in Rome, collaborated with Giacomo Lercaro in Ravenna and worked for the FUCI at national level. In summer 1950 Giavazzi was appointed director of the Augustinianum college; he remained in office up to 1956. Later on, Giavazzi became spiritual assistant in the same college to his death (1969). He was indirectly involved in ’68 mouvement.
