The essay reconstructs the fundamental stages of the almost fifty years’ academic activity carried out by Albino Uggè (1899-1971) among the collaborators and professors of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. Trained in the Twenties and Thirties at the statistical-demographic school of Marcello Boldrini, Uggè devoted the main and most original part of his scientific production to the deepening of the themes of economic statistics, both of the business branch, and in the field of public economy. Uggè made a significant contribution to the programme of studies in the research areas.
